My Top 5 Shoes For Spring

shoes for spring

Before you state the obvious yes there are only four shoes in these photos, but there is a reason for this. Keep reading to find out why.

I decided to write this post when I was pondering what shoes to wear the other day. In England our ‘spring’ is usually a mixture of sunny, grey and rainy days, making picking an outfit in the morning difficult, especially when the weather is ever so changing.

So I thought I would put together a post on my top shoes.

1. Converse

I’m ashamed to say it but I own way too many converse so much so I haven’t counted them for fear of judging myself! The reason I buy them is because they are some of the most comfortable trainer-like shoes I have. They come in a variety of styles and colours so they can be paired with almost any outfit.

2. Brogues

Whether black, brown or another colour these shoes are an easy way to smarten an outfit while still be comfortable – can you start to see a theme here? I like to keep my feet comfortable, especially if I’m running around doing this that and the other.

3. Slip ons

They can be canvas or leather, whichever you prefer they are good for slipping them as you got out the door if your in a rush. Mine were from Nine West (far right) and I love them. Apart from being comfortable and easy to wear, as well as going with practically everything in my wardrobe, they look more sophisticated with their later cut out detailing. Paired with jeans, a skirt or tapered trousers these are a winner for work or over the weekend.

4. Wedge Trainers

How beautiful do these look? I feel in love with the colour and had to have them, even though I had no idea what I would wear them with. Turns out they are a perfect statement shoe. Although they are trainers the wedge gives them a stylish edge. Due to the bright colour I normal wear them with an all black or monochrome outfit so that the colour gives my outfit a statement pop, superb for spring.

5. Peep Toe Ankle Boots

I’m currently on the hunt for some gorgeous peep toe ankle boots as these would be perfect for spring.  “Why?” I hear you ask, well wearing ankle boots on a sunny day may look great with your outfit but if you have to walk anywhere your feet would boil!

These three above are my favourite. The peep toe, and cut out on the heel on the black pairs, allow your feet to stay cool whilst looking trendy and sophisticated.
