Pumpkin spice might rule my life during this season, but you cannot beat the seasonal obsession with boots. Whether you prefer ankle or knee high, boots are a stable for this colder season.
Here are my top four pairs:
1. Steve Madden Taupe Boots
These suede boots are my newest pair by my favourite footwear brand, so of course I had to mention them. They have a western style about them and surprisingly they are my first pair of boots with a pointed toe. I always thought pointed shoes would hurt, squish my feet – you get the general idea. But these are really comfortable. Don’t get me wrong I did have to break them in, but it wasn’t like I had blisters popping up every step I took. In fact I’ve only had one and it was tiny, #winning!
Getting back to why I love these this season: they’re not black – don’t get me wrong I love wearing black and grey during the colder months, but taupe offers a subtle pop of colour. It’s not as harsh as brown can be, but it doesn’t blend in with the rest of an all black/grey outfit. Plus, they go with everything.
(Psst: they also come in black leather).
2. Burgundy Wedge Boots
What’s Fall and Winter without a bit of burgundy?
The dark lipsticks are out and everyone starts to get festive, it’s a colour that just brings a smile to your face. So why not add a seasonal pop of colour to your feet? These would look amazing with jeans and a cozy sweater, or jazz up an all black/grey outfit.

Military style boots are not only practical, but they are kind of like an autumnal statement boot, without being flashy.
I used to have a pair of brown military style boots that I wore to death a few years ago and I was trying to find a replacement pair for quite a while. Last year I found these beauties from Clarks while I was in America – am I the only person who never finds boots in Clarks in the UK, but as soon as I’m abroad I find at least two!?
Although these are heeled and not like my flat military style boots they are just as comfy and versatile.
4. Black Ankle Boots
You can never go wrong with a pair of black boots. They’re such a classic and a staple in everyone’s wardrobe. Whether you prefer chelsea boots or heeled ankle boots, they can be worn with anything. They can smarten up a casual tee and jeans kind of a day, or should I say jeans and the biggest oversized sweater you can find! Or you can wear them with a dress for an night out.
