Although you won’t see monthly favourites on my blog, I like the idea of every now and again putting a post together of some of my current favourites, even if it’s just seasonal – actually that might be something I’ll do. What are your thoughts?
Anyway, here are some of my spring favourites…
This breton style top with this awesome French fries patch is from Joanie Clothing, which has quickly become one of my favourite online stores for casual tees, simply because they make it look like you’ve put thought and effort into your outfit, even if you’ve literally just rolled out of bed and thrown whatever you can grab your hands on to. Another reason I love this brand: they do sizes to suit people from size 8 – 22. Not many retailers do this, and from browsing Instagram (if you didn’t know they have their own hashtag #joaniegal) their items look great on everyone.
I cannot tell you how long I was hunting for this Essie nail polish in the shade Island Hopping. I searched everywhere I could, Boots, Superdrug, any Essie counters I saw I searched them, but I eventually found it while exploring a mall… in Japan – only had to take a 12 hour flight to get my hands on it haha!
I can’t remember where I originally saw this colour. Maybe when I was scrolling through Instagram I found it, but whatever it was I’m glad it did because I love this colour. Island Hopping is a lovely rich mauve that isn’t too dark or rich that it could be considered to be not far off the neutral scale. It’s a beautiful everyday shade that has quickly become my go-to nail polish if I can’t decide what colour to go for.
You’ve probably already read my previous post about the Zara crossbody bag so I’ll spare you from re-hashing my undying love for this little cutie. If however you didn’t catch it it’s called the best bag under £20. It’s such a great accessory for spring/summer, and the colour gives any monochromatic outfit a little pop.
My go-to base at the moment is the L’Oreal Infallible matte foundation. It’s a great everyday base if you have oily/combination skin – those of you who have dryer skin this might not be for you as it does go semi-matte. I can wear it lightly, or layer it if I need a little more extra coverage in some areas and it lasts most of the day. Plus it’s a drugstore foundation, and at only £7.99 it’s definitely worth the price. **Psst: at the moment Boots have 3 for 2 on L’Oreal!**
Another thing I’ve been loving over the last couple of months is Primark’s bedding. Hello tropical prints and geometric goodness! Even though I have one set I’m pretty tempted to buy another… You can never have too much tropical themed bedding can you? …Don’t answer that…
