La Roche-Posey Effaclar Duo+ Review

La-Roche-Posey-Effaclar-Duo-+-review

As you may be aware, I have been trying out different skincare products for a while due to my indecisive and acne prone skin, and have gotten hooked by one brand in particular: La Roche-Posey.

The first product I trialled was the La Roche-Posey Serozinc, which I use as a toner after cleansing –  you can read my mini review about it here. Then last month I did a review on their Toleriane Ultra Fluide (here), and so far both of these products have been great, but I needed something extra to keep fighting breakouts before and after they occur. So after a lot of research I decided to try La Roche-Posey’s Effaclar Duo+.

So, why did I choose to try this product? Firstly, it is a moisturiser specifically for people who have oily, blemish and acne prone skin, and suitable for sensitive skin too, which is great as some products for oily and blemish prone skin can be a little harsh and irritate my skin. At least for me anyway. Secondly, it says that it reduces the appearance of blemishes and is non-comedogenic – which means that it is formulated so it does not clog pores. What more could I ask for?

I’ve now been testing this product for over a month and can honestly say it’s now a staple product. Even though I still get the odd spot or two here and there, they are no where near as bad as before, and the don’t last long either. Although this is all well and good, the one thing that sold it to me was how it treated my cystic acne – or perhaps it’s better to say my single cystic spot. I tend to get a recurring spot deep under the skin on my chin that very rarely becomes visible to the naked eye. And oh boy does it feel like it could take over my entire face, and can be quite painful! However, when it decided to rear it’s ugly head while I trialling the Effaclar Duo+  it didn’t even last 24hrs. NO JOKE. I’m still shocked by it.

Even though this product is designed for oily and blemish prone skin, it isn’t too matte. I find that it still hydrates the skin without making you look too dewy – or for us oily skin peeps: a sweaty mess. I even add the Toleriane Ultra Fluide on top to give me a little extra, and even then my skin looks healthy and non-greasy.

I don’t know if my skin has improved as much as it has with solely one product, or perhaps it was the combination of all of them, but needless to say they are all keepers. And yes, I have repurchased them.

Have you tried any La Roche-Posey products that you would recommend?

All of the links to these products go to the Feel Unique website as they currently have a great sale going, and you can get these products cheaper! No need to thank me ☺︎

I've heard about this product before. I would love to try it as my skin is half oily and half dry. I currently have a few breakouts that I'm trying to get rid of. x

I love it (in case you couldn't tell haha), and would definitely recommend giving it a go. I think there's also another version that includes spf 30 too!
